Complementary - Contrasting Colors

There are three secondary colors in addition to the primary colors. These are green, purple and orange.

Secondary colors are achieved by mixing primary colors with each other

E.g.:
Blue-yellow: green
Blue-red: purple
Yellow-red: orange

Secondary colors are located opposite the primary colors on the color wheel.
Yellow-purple
Red-green

Contrasting colors complement each other and provide good result when used together.

E.g.:
yellow and violet

However, soft tones of these colors perform better results rather than strong and bright tones.

The same applies to red and green colors. Red with softer tones, i.e. pink and green is a perfect combination. Using two contrasting colors having equal effects may be disturbing. However, we can create stylish combinations when we reduce their density and effect.

We use definitions such as light blue, light yellow and light brown frequently when we are talking about colors. Have you ever heard of light red? No. Pink is a version of red and a lighter tone of red is defined with a new name: pink.
