Warm & Cool Colors

One group of colors on the color wheel evokes the sun, hot and fire. These colors are called warm colors since they bring out warm colors in people. Yellow, red, orange and tones of these colors are warm colors. Wavelengths of these colors are short and they are vivid colors which are distinguished quickly.

Another group of colors on the color wheel are called cool colors. These colors leave a cold feeling on people. Green, blue, purple and tones of these colors are cool colors.
